The Southampton Inn hosted the final Dan’s Papers Literary Salon of the season this past Saturday. Guests enjoyed wine and cheese while listening to select essays in honor of Dan’s Paper Literary Prize for Nonfiction in the inn’s library.
This Place is the Best…
This place is the best… Friendly staff,,,, Location, Location. Location. book early hard to find space in peak summer…Dog friendly.
Right in the center of the Hamptons… near everything..Pricy but everything out there is. Very clean and a good in-house restaurant.
Lots of Treats Available all Night!
What’s not to like? A friendly staff. Chocolate at the front desk. (Free!) We were also given a map to our room and the various options of getting there. Wall to wall carpet. Air conditioning. And a bed that dreams are made of. Had a really nice night with my gal. Also- you wanna walk to town ?? Go for it! Main Street is steps away. Fun fact- if that sweet tooth picks up..look no further than the vending machines in the efficient breezeway. Lots of treats available all night!
I love Southampton Inn!!!
I love Southampton Inn because it’s got that home away from home feel about it, and the staff are super nice and accommodating – makes you feel right at home. I also tried new in-house restaurant Cafe Klyde when I was there last and it was really good. I had a seasonal omelet for breakfast with coffee an English muffin. The food was delicious and the server was really attentive and asked if we wanted to sit inside in the newly renovated dining room or outside on the terrace. We chose the terrace, which was the perfect place to enjoy breakfast on a nice summer day. I very much recommend both the hotel and the restaurant to anyone traveling to the Hamptons.
Thank you Southampton Inn!
My husband and I and another couple went to the New Years Eve Gala which included open bar, dinner, dancing, and other assorted festivities. The staff was great, they ran the whole show like a well-oiled machine. There were at least 100 people there, yet it never felt crowded. The food was plentiful and delicious. We live in Southampton so we didn’t take advantage of the hotel rooms, which were available. We came into the night not sure what to expect, we left laughing, dancing, singing and planning for next year! Thank you Southampton Inn!

Great Spot for a Couple That Wants a Quick Getaway
Great spot for a couple that wants a quick getaway. Rooms were clean and comfortable, lobby was very relaxing and cozy. Beds were fantastic. Drawbacks: thin walls and bfast that ends at 10. Absolutely no complaints about the service, we were welcomed with kindness and helpfulness.
The Kids Loved the Game Room
Just had a lovely stay, with 2 kids and a dog, this past weekend and found the room charming and clean. Didn’t feel dated at all — perhaps my room was newly renovated? The kids loved the game room. And we found all the staff to be quite nice — especially Johnny, who was kind enough to act quickly when I called and let him know I’d left behind my favorite pillow. It’s in the mail as we speak. Only thing I’ll admit to agreeing with a negative poster is the thinness of the walls. Luckily our neighbors kept similar hours. Would definitely visit again.
We had a Great Experience Here
We had a great experience here. Location was perfect, pool and restaurant were great, rooms were nice. Would highly recommend
We had the Most Fantastic Visit
We had the most fantastic visit and I’m bummed to see others that have visited have not had positive experiences. We had a cute ground level room that was decorated in a very thoughtful style. It snowed while we were here and we loved watching the snow pile up outside our window…it was pretty magical! The staff was prompt to shovel and salt all of the walkways and parking lots throughout our stay. Parking was plentiful and everyone seemed to park right outside their door. The hotel also provided a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolates for us in the room which we thought was a nice touch. It’s dog friendly which is always a mega perk for us!
We were a short walk away from downtown Southhampton and walked back and forth many times during our visit there to check out the shops and restaurants. Perfect location for exploring everything this area has to offer and not to ever need your car. We didn’t spend much time in the common areas but the main lobby looked cozy with fireplaces and had some board games that would be fun with a group. I imagine the entire inn (pool, restaurant, etc) hustles and bustles all summer but we didn’t mind the quiet nature of the off season.
We also tried the restaurant across the street…the Plaza Cafe…and boy was this a treat! They had a special lobster themed five course menu for Valentine’s Day and it was spectacular. Definitely check this place out if you’re nearby!
All in all, we loved our experience here. Sure it was a little on the pricier side, but we found the quality to be good and worth it for our first visit to the Hamptons. It’s not a fancy hotel by any stretch (essentially two stories and set up more of a motel style with either ground floor entrances or key carded stairwells to access second floor rooms) but we found everything to be to our liking and the area and inn to be both beautiful and safe. Hoping to go back this winter!
Staff was Welcoming, Friendly and Professional.
My fiancé and I had a wonderful experience this past weekend at the inn. The staff was welcoming, friendly and professional. Lots to do nearby, and very convenient from the train station. We will be back very soon!
Restaurant Has Delicious Food
This is a review for their restaurant only —
Southampton inn restaurant has delicious food at a reasonable price for the Hamptons. I actually came here for a promotional event for a fitness app but I ordered lunch at the hotel and I don’t regret it! I got the “not so humble hamburger” which comes with applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, and three ingredients of your choice. I chose a fried egg, guacamole, and sautéed onions and my burger came out excellent. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare exactly as I asked. The guacamole was classic, well seasoned, and complimented the burger nicely. It was also a big burger (maybe around 10oz) and I was perfectly full afterward. The burger came with thick cut, well seasoned fries that were just to my liking.
My friend got the veggie sandwich with the corn salsa as a side. It came jam-packed with fresh-grilled veggies including zucchini, summer squash, tomatoes, and eggplant. It’s also slathered in a delicious garlic herb aioli that really ties the dish together. The corn salsa was crisp, sweet, and light; a perfect accompaniment to this sandwich.
